Last Sunday (the 26th) we decided to try our luck on the slopes just outside UB. In 2009, some very entrepreneurial people started a ski & golf resort about 30 minutes from the city. While there are only 6 runs, it's DIRT CHEAP to spend a few hours on the hills...For a 3 hour lift ticket (and with 6 runs, 3 hours is long enough) AND ski rental, it cost approximately $25 ($31 for snowboard rental). And it was about $3 to take the bus out, round-trip. WHAT THE WHAT!? Plus, if you go before 10am (which we did), there's an early bird 10% discount. How could we NOT go!? Needless to say, it was super fun, not because the runs were particularly challenging (in fact, the hardest run was closed the day we were there) or the conditions particularity good (in fact, they were kinda crappy; skiing on made snow as we've had none naturally this winter), but because of the novelty, the kitschy appeal: we went skiing in Mongolia!

In addition to the perk of 10% off, we also had the resort to ourselves. No lines for ANYTHING!
The resort; small but hey, it's in Mongolia so...
I'm ready to go!
Heading up. It wasn't super cold and there was no wind; a great day for skiing!
Looking back at UB and the super gross pollution; was nice to spend a day out of the grossness.
Here I come! Swuush! Swuush!
We had a lot of fun and hope to hit the slopes again later this season. For that price, how could we not!?
